Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 March 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Mend ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Mend mobile application ("App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. Our App is designed to help you build savings habits by intercepting betting apps and prompting you to save before you bet.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Required Permissions

To function correctly, Mend requires the following device permissions:

1.2 Account and Profile Data

Mend uses anonymous authentication by default. You are not required to provide your name, email address, or any identifying information to use the App. If you choose to add a recovery email in Settings, that email is stored securely in our database solely to enable account recovery.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve the Mend service:

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Protection

3.1 Where Your Data Lives

Your account data (vault balance, save history, profile) is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase, our database provider. Supabase stores data in secure, encrypted infrastructure. Your data is not stored locally on your device beyond what is cached for offline functionality.

3.2 Offline Data

Mend caches your vault balance and save count locally on your device so the App functions during poor or no network connectivity. Any save events completed offline are queued locally and synced to our servers when connectivity is restored. This local cache is cleared when you uninstall the App.

3.3 Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), row-level security policies on our database, and anonymous authentication to minimise the personal data we hold. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

4. Third-Party Services

Mend uses the following third-party services to operate:

4.1 Supabase

Provides our database, authentication, and serverless functions. Collects anonymous usage and performance data. See Supabase's Privacy Policy at supabase.com/privacy.

4.2 Anthropic Claude API

Powers the AI-generated insights in the app. We send anonymised data (weekly spend estimate, save count, vault balance, day of week) to generate personalised one-line messages. No personally identifying information is sent. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

4.3 Google Play Billing

Subscription payments are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Subscription status and purchase tokens are shared with us by Google to verify your access. See Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

4.4 Advertising Measurement (Website Only)

We may use Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel on our website (trymendapp.com) to measure advertising effectiveness. These are not active within the App itself. You can opt out via your browser privacy settings.

5. Data Not Collected

Mend does not collect:

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@trymendapp.com.

7. Data Retention

8. Children's Privacy

Mend is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at hello@trymendapp.com and we will delete the account promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We will notify users of any material changes to this Privacy Policy through the App or via email if you have provided a recovery email. Continued use of the App after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The current version is always available at trymendapp.com/privacy.
